If you've already informed us that you'd like to be met at the airport, look for our driver. He'll have a sign with your name on it as you clear customs. In his comfortable mini-van, he'll bring you to your island getaway, stopping off for supplies if you wish. Airport transfer: $25 (1 to 4 persons) or $ 40 for a van (5 to 8 persons) per trip. Add $ 5 per trip if service is required before 6 a.m. or after 6 p.m.).
There is a departure tax of U.S. $36.00 per person, payable in cash. It takes approximately 40 minutes from West Bay Village to the airport, so allow yourself plenty of time. Be sure to reconfirm your reservation before departure. We can organize your trip back to the airport once you are here.
If you are coming through La Ceiba, the regular ferry service, Safeway's "Galaxy" (504 2445-1795), departs for Roatan every day at 9.30am and 4.30pm. The trip takes two hours, and returns to La Ceiba every day at 7am and 1pm. (Pay the extra few dollars for the option of 1st class with A/C and refreshments). Pick-up from the ferry dock in Dixon Cove can also be arranged. West Bay is somewhat isolated and so you may wish to rent a car. Let us know in advance and we can book something for you.
Getting to West Bay:
Driving on the island is very easy; as there is really just one road running the length of the island. As you leave the airport take a left. This road will take you west out of the Coxen Hole area. After 10 minutes or so you will pass through Sandy Bay. Another ten minutes brings you to the entrance of West End Town. Just before the beach there is a road up to the left, marked "West Bay". Follow this road until you reach the peak or ridge of the island. Here the road splits at a large white building on the right called "Latitudes". Take the turn up to the right and continue following the ridge-line. There are some great views along this road. As the road drops back down to the sea, you enter West Bay. Prior to arrival we will send you directions to the house you have chosen as well as a phone number for contact if needed. We will see you there to meet and greet you to your island home; give you keys and settle you in.
