Weather in West Bay Village

West Bay enjoys a delightfully tropical climate year-round, with daytime highs generally hovering between 27 °C and 30 °C (80–86 °F) and evening lows rarely dipping below 24 °C (75 °F). The sea stays wonderfully warm—around 27–29 °C (80–84 °F)—so you can swim, snorkel, or dive any day you choose. Trade winds from the east bring gentle breezes that keep things comfortable, especially during the dry season from March through August. Even during the wetter months, showers are usually brief and followed by bright sunshine.

Whether you’re here to unwind on the beach or explore the island’s coral reefs and culture, we can’t wait to welcome you to your home away from home in West Bay Village.

Driving Directions

Finding West Bay Village is easy once you’re in Roatan

Getting to West Bay Village is simple from the airport or ferry

From both the ferry docks and the airport take a left onto the main road, there is one road that runs the length of the island so keep going! About a mile from the airport you will see a sign for Petrosun gas station. The next right takes you up the hill to Plaza Mar and Eldon’s grocery stores.

Continuing along past the gas station, you will travel past the outskirts of Coxen Hole. After about 10 minutes you will pass through Sandy Bay and see the entrance to Anthony’s Key Resort on your right hand side. About another 5 minutes along the road there is a turn on the left with a sign posted West Bay and Flowers Bay; take this left turn. After a short distance you will see a large white house with unfinished exterior staircases and a sign for “West Bay”. There is a right turn immediately after the white house, take this right turn up the hill. If you are traveling downhill you’ve gone too far!

This section of the road will now take you along the ridge of the island (spectacular views) towards West Bay. You will come down a long hill until the road flattens out to sea level again. On your right you will see the West Bay Beach Mall on the road side. The road after the West Bay Beach Mall is Bananarama Road. The next right after that is the entrance to Paradise Beach. That will lead you down to the white gates of West Bay Village on your left before you get to the sea.
